9th Annual Open Studio Show.
Saturday, 11 December 2004, noon to 6 pm
at the Corner Store, 900 South Carolina Ave, SE, Washington, DC. Featuring
gift certificates for a name or dream tile on the Yume Tree, glasswork, jewelry,
painters, sculpture, ceramics, painted tiles, mosaic birdhouses and picture
frames, sculpted birds, cards and calendars and more. Proceeds from the annual
show benefit participating students from Potomac gardens housing.
4 October 2003. Dedication Party! (see photos)
30 September. The YuMe Tree has been planted! The panels now are in place on the CVS/pharmacy wall and the final touches are being made prior to the 4 October dedication. (see photos)
28 September. One week to go! Still at the Corner Store, the nearly completed panels are prepared for transport back to the CVS wall and final mounting. (see photos)
15 July. Launch Party at the CVS wall (see photos)
29 June-15 July: Kris and two volunteers are drawing outlines of the tile and mirror groupings onto the wood panels, with size and proportion adjusted to fit the site, and grids created for different classes and schools (see photos).
28 June:
Eleven 4' by 10' PVC panels were temporarily attached to the CVS
wall (see photos).
